The Woodshed Axe Throwing in Sylvan Lake is marking the day with free axe throwing from 5pm to 9pm with just a donation to the Food Bank!
And if you don’t happen to be in Central Alberta today, be sure to check out facilities in your area- many participating axe throwing locations will be opening their doors to let people try it out free of charge in a safe and fun environment.
A Bit of History
Axe throwing is a sport where the goal is to hit a target using nothing but an axe and it’s most popular in North America, where it began as an event in lumberjack competitions! Recently, the activity has caught on in Europe as well. International Axe Throwing Day was created to encourage everyone to try out this historical past time, relieve stress and just have fun with friends and family.
Whatever you get up to this International Axe Throwing Day, stay safe and have fun!
