Thousands Raised During Charity Checkstop In Lacombe
By Sheldon Spackman
The Christmas spirit seems to be alive and well in the City of Lacombe.
Officials say the Lacombe Police Services Charity Checkstop held on Saturday, November 26th raised $4,881.85 as well as food donations for the local foodbank. All the money raised will go towards local charities thanks to the generosity of Lacombe residents.
Members of the Lacombe Police Service and volunteers from Lacombe Big Brothers Big Sisters, Lacombe MADD and Lacombe SADD were set up on 50th Avenue for three hours collecting donations last Saturday.
