The “Big Sticky” is back!
SAVE THE DATE!
The Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter and Red Deer Ribfest are pleased to be joining forces during this 2nd Annual family-friendly festival taking place August 17—19 in Red Deer’s downtown Rotary Park.
Close to 20,000 people are expected to take part in what has become known as the “Big Sticky”. 4 Ribbers, and 5 Feature Foodies including Lemonade, Mini Donuts, and Desserts will be serving up their best in Beef & Pork Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Sweet Pulled Pork, Brisket and more!
Enjoy a weekend full of food, music, and fun as award-winning Ribbers from all over North America will showcase their finest ribs and sauces. Teams are competing for this year’s title of “Best Ribs”. Sample each team’s special recipes and vote for your favorite!
While ribs take center stage, there is a lot more to enjoy at the festival. The Chillin’ Flamingo will be performing on the “Big Sticky Stage” in the Ribfest Canada Beer Garden (open daily), which is always the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the live music.
Admission is free with a suggested “TOSS THE TOONIE” in support of the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter. Enjoy live entertainment, 50/50 draws, plus purchase your own souvenir cup for only $5. Hours are: 11:00am—9:00pm Friday and Saturday, and 11:00am—7:00 pm on Sunday.
CAWES provides a wide range of programs and services to women and their families who have experienced violence and abuse, including: 24-hr Family Violence Hotline, Accommodation & Basic Emergency Services, Crisis Intervention and Counselling, Child Support Program, Outreach & Follow-up, Family Enrichment Program, Nurturing Parenting Program, and Information / Referrals.
Proceeds from the Red Deer Ribfest are vital to continuing these programs and services.
