With 4 days before nomination day, the first incumbent announced his retirement. The list is still heading for the north side of 50 but Councillor Paul Harris will not be seeking a third term. Citing a need for new people on council and concerns over low voter turnout.
Let us hope that some of the 50 plus names on the upcoming ballot can give us a reason to vote for them. The status-quo, same old-same old, or everything is fine does not draw voters to the voting booth.
Courage cannot be found in a cliché.
