Santa Claus Is Coming To Town To Thank Blood Donors
Canadian Blood Services will be hosting Santa Claus on Friday, Dec. 9 from 10 – 11 a.m.
With just over two weeks left until Christmas, Santa will join Canadian Blood Services at Red Deer’s blood clinic, which is located at #5 5020 68th St in thanking donors and to remind people to donate blood during the holiday season.
Philip Massier, Red Deer County Councillor will dress up as Santa and deliver presents to three-time, stem cell recipient, Liam Larratt and his siblings, as well as blood recipient Brielle Robichaud and her siblings. Massier will also be donating blood during his visit.
Getting blood donations during the holidays can be a challenge as many donors are away or busy with family.
Events are being held in communities across the country in December to encourage Canadians who are eligible to donate to give a gift that can’t be bought.
