Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools Notes October 18th

Red Deer’s St. Teresa of Avila school will be the site of some special visits on October 18th. The Red Deer Catholic Regional School Division’s First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Support Team will visit five classrooms on this date to introduce students to Sacred Tree Lessons. The Sacred Tree Lesson will be delivered in all classrooms throughout the day and the following day, Octopber 19th. The Sacred Tree lessons support the Division’s Faith Theme: Rooted, Nourished and Growing.
The visits take palce between 8:30am and noon.
At St. Francis of Assisi Middle School in Red Deer, Volunteers with the Junior Achievement organization will present to Grade 7 classes on October 18 and 20. The presentation focuses on a variety of money related topics from budgeting to consumer rights to modern methods of payment and safety issues surrounding those.
At Ecole Our Lady of the Rosary School in Sylvan Lake, Members of the Sylvan Lake Lion’s Club will conduct an eye screening test on Kindergarten students on October 18-19.
At St. Pat’s School in Red Deer, Plan ahead for Christmas and support a good cause by supporting St. Patrick’s Annual Trade Fair. There will be food trucks, vendors and bake sale tables all in one place on this evening for your shopping convenience. Proceeds from the bake tables will go towards Christmas food hampers to help families in need within our community.
Food Trucks: Taste Budz, Golden Mini Donuts, Papa Baldy’s Pizza, Country House Kitchen and Catering. Vendors include: Kastiel Welding, heritage Makers, Youngevity, Scentsy, Arbonne, Thrive Life, Perfecting your Fashion, Younique, Tupperware, Mongolia & Vine, Fussy Party Decor, Balderson Creations, Pottery Verve, Avon, Steeped Tea and many more to come.
The event runs from 3:30 to 7pm.
Finally, All 2017 graduating students and their parents are encouraged to attend a meeting for important information regarding graduation and scholarships. This event will be held in the Notre Dame High School’s gymnasium. Please contact Shannon Nivens at 403-342-4800 for more information. It runs from 6:30-8:30pm.
