Road Closure At Great Chief Park November 21-26

The road going into Red Deer’s Great Chief Park will be closed for utility construction for one week, starting November 21st.
City officials say the road closure is necessary to replace underground water and sanitary sewer lines and the road is expected to reopen on Saturday, November 26th.
However, Great Chief Park, Bower Ponds and the Cronquist House will remain open during this time, so park visitors can park at the west parking lot, as all trails in Great Chief Park will remain open.
As enhancements to Great Chief Park continue in advance of Red Deer hosting the 2019 Canada Winter Games, check out these renderings provided by the City as to what the Park is expected to look like in Winter or Summer once the upgrades are done:
