PM’s Objectionable Gaza Remarks Fuel Misinformation Across Country

B’nai Brith Canada is indignant that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau felt the need to indirectly accuse Israel of targeting civilians in Gaza in an emotionally charged Tuesday address in Vancouver.

Among other things, Trudeau said the “price of justice” for Hamas’ brutal Oct. 7 terrorist attacks could not be the “continued suffering of all Palestinian civilians,” especially “women, children, and babies.” He also said, “Even wars have rules,” implying Israel’s forces are violating international law.

As B’nai Brith’s Michael Mostyn and David Matas recently argued in an op-ed, knee-jerk claims that Israel is violating international law in responding to Hamas terrorism only benefits Hamas.

“Unfortunately, the PM did not offer any constructive solutions to help people on the ground in Gaza,” said Mostyn, B’nai Brith Canada’s Chief Executive Officer. “Passionately conveying misinformation is especially irresponsible at a time like this, when antisemitism is spiking.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also condemned Trudeau’s comments:

“While Israel is doing everything to keep civilians out of harm’s way, Hamas is doing everything to keep them in harm’s way,” he said in a post on X. “Israel provides civilians in Gaza humanitarian corridors and safe zones, Hamas prevents them from leaving at gunpoint.

“It is Hamas not Israel that should be held accountable for committing a double war crime – targeting civilians while hiding behind civilians.”

Within the last two weeks, tensions spilling over from the Middle East conflict have contributed to hatred and even violence on our streets. In Montreal, Jewish institutions were shot at on two separate occasions and a Molotov Cocktail was thrown at a synagogue. Surely the Prime Minister must understand the negative impact spreading misinformation about Israel has on the Jewish community in Canada.

“As PM, he must be a voice of reason, calm and unity,” Mostyn said. “Sadly, the speech he gave in Vancouver failed woefully in that respect.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin was asked about the motives of outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden to escalate the NATO conflict with Russia. He responds by outlining genuine motives that political pundits in the U.S. pretend not to know.

During an appearance in Kazakhstan last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a press conference with Russian journalists who asked questions about the current conflict with Ukraine.

Before getting to the video, it is worth mentioning that our Western viewpoint of Russia respecting strength is not entirely accurate. There is something Russians respect more than strength: brutal honesty.

One of the things that separates Russians from their Eastern European counterparts is their keen ability to detect and dismiss b******t. If you watch Russian engagement, from either inside or outside of Russia, their non-pretending is truly an art form. Even the silent space between their words is something remarkable to watch.

In this first video segment, Russian President Putin is asked about the motives of outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden to escalate the NATO conflict with Russia. President Putin responds by outlining genuine, factual, and honest motives that political pundits in the U.S. pretend not to know. It’s fascinating to watch:

Why the presser? Why the questions? Why the willingness? Look, I’m no Putin whisperer, but I can see a brutally obvious motive of Vladimir Putin speaking directly to President Trump, through the media. For a myriad of reasons, including the honesty of his responses and statements, this approach seems completely logical and practical.

This next segment is even more interesting.

In this segment, Vladimir Putin is describing his views on President Trump and the status of his perspective toward Donald Trump against the backdrop of what Putin witnessed. Of course, the opportunity for passive aggressive snark is available, and Putin would not be Russian if he did not take the opportunity troll the U.S. government at the same time. Watch:

‘Hell To Pay’: Trump Warns Middle East Leaders, Terrorists Of Consequences If Hostages Aren’t Released

President-elect Donald Trump released a statement Monday on social media warning Middle East leaders and terrorists about the consequences they could face if hostages from the Israel-Hamas war are not released before Inauguration Day.

While some hostages taken over a year ago by the terrorist group have been released, 101 people are still in Gaza, with seven reportedly being U.S. citizens, according to Fox News. In a post on Truth Social, Trump warned there will be “hell to pay” for those perpetrating “atrocities against humanity.”

“Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East – But it’s all talk, and no action!” Trump wrote.

Tensions between Israel and Gaza have yet to subside. This, as the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said Sunday they would be halting their deliveries for aid through the main cargo crossing due to threats of armed gangs who reportedly have looted the convoys, according to the Associated Press. Parents of the seven American hostages pleaded last month to U.S. and Israeli officials, asking for a “sense of urgency” to help release the hostages.

“Our plea is that this is urgent, and I’m not sure we’re seeing the sense of urgency,” the mother of hostage Omer Neutra, who was 21-years-old at the time of his capture, told Fox Digital.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said negotiations for a deal to secure the hostages are taking place “behind the scenes,” according to The Times of Israel.
