Mixed Results For Red Deer Building Permits In October

Some mixed results to report regarding the value of building permits issued in Red Deer last month. City officials say there was over $13 million dollars in permits issued in October, way down from the $58.4 million bucks issued in October of 2015.
However, Commercial permits were $3.6 million dollars, double the $1.3 million in October of last year. Commercial permit highlights include an addition to the Covenant Health Villa
Marie on Carrington Drive, estimated at $1.9 million; an Elephant and Castle restaurant on Timberlands Drive, estimated at $279,000; First Red Deer Place tenant improvements, estimated at $240,000; and construction of a Domino’s Pizza in Lancaster, estimated at $195,000.
Year to date numbers show over $210 million dollars in total permits issued so far, down from $223 million issued in the first 10 months of 2015.
