Lindsay Thurber High School To Host Remembrance Day Service November 8th
By Sheldon Spackman
Red Deer’s Lindsay Thurber High School will host it’s annual Remembrance Day program on Tuesday, November 8th.
Over 200 students will take part in the multi-media tribute which aims to be a poignant traditional ceremony in recognition of those who have selflessly served our country; with a special tribute to Vimy Ridge.
Red Deer Public School officials say dignitaries both past and present from the Canadian Forces will be on hand, with the program to also feature musical performances by the school band and choir, as well as a reading from a student poetry contest winner.
The program starts at 1 o’clock and is open to the public but people are encouraged to arrive by 12:30pm to get a seat before it begins. A reception will follow.
