Kombucha- Yes, we had to look it up too. Meet Wild Brewing Co.

We had to do a bit of searching when we started learning about Kombucha. Here’s how Wikipedia describes it: Kombucha (also tea mushroom, Manchurian mushroom, formal name: Medusomyces gisevii[1]) is a variety of fermented, lightly effervescentsweetened black or green tea drinks commonly intended as functional beverages for their supposed health benefits.
We’ve enjoyed getting to know some of amazing local businesses through our involvement with the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards. A finalist in this year’s awards, Wild Brewing Company opened their doors in May of 2016, brewing out a garage converted into a commercial kitchen and selling product at local farmers markets. Wild Brewing Co’s responsibility is to emphasize the importance of being health conscious, environmentally aware and to focus on community collaboration.
“We have created the first kombucha taproom in all of Canada,” says Emily Andres.
“To our knowledge, every other kombucha brewing company in the country strictly sells their product wholesale.”
About the Chamber: The Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most influential business association in Central Alberta. We are committed to promoting business growth and prosperity in the region by providing networking opportunities, educational and relevant speakers, benefit programs like group insurance and discounted merchant card rates to save you money, and being your advocate on issues that matter. Chamber membership is the most effective way to raise your business profile and capitalize on business development opportunities.
All companies, Chamber members and non-members, are eligible for nomination for an award in their respective category. Todayville is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Business of the Year Awards.
