Injury Collision with Motorcycle
St. Albert, AB – At approximately 10:15 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018, St. Albert RCMP was called to an injury collision involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Campbell Road and Boudreau Road. The police investigation has determined that a Harley Davidson motorcycle with one male adult driver was proceeding northbound on Campbell Road through the intersection with Boudreau Road. A silver VW Jetta car with a female adult driver alone in the vehicle was stopped at the red traffic light heading southbound on Campbell Road and was going to turn east bound onto Boudreau Road.
As the traffic light turned green, the car proceeded to pull into the intersection and then stopped. The motorcycle driver who had been approaching the intersection, proceeded straight and then allegedly leaned the motorcycle over into a skid. The motorcyclist rolled off the motorcycle, and his body collided with the front of the silver car. The motorcycle continued without any passenger and crossed the intersection, the boulevard and collided with a southbound tractor trailer unit.  Other motorists, including another tractor trailer unit driver and a City of St. Albert employee provided assistance to the injured man while waiting for EMS to arrive.
The 20 year old St. Albert resident female driver of the silver car and the 47 year old Edmonton resident male driver, and sole occupant, of the tractor trailer unit were not injured. The 58 year old male resident of Sturgeon County who had been driving the motorcycle was transported to the University of Alberta Hospital by Emergency Medical Services and is listed in stable condition.
The road conditions at this intersection were clear and dry, and the traffic conditions were considered heavy. Alcohol or other drugs are not suspected to be factors in this collision.
Three officers from the St. Albert Traffic Services Unit and two RCMP Collision Analysts attended this collision scene.
This investigation is continuing.

St. Albert RCMP Search Warrant Locates Stolen Identity Documents

St. Albert, Alta. – On March 13, 2021, St. Albert RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) executed a Search Warrant at an apartment complex in the City of St. Albert. The search of the residence located hundreds of pieces of stolen identity documents, forged identification, forged cheques and stolen mail. There was evidence the individuals were making and distributing forged identification to be used in other frauds.

As a result of the investigation, both Twyla STEINHAUER (33 years old) and Corey PEERS (32 years old) of Edmonton, have been remanded into police custody and are set to appear in court on March 22, 2021 in St. Albert on the following charges:

  • Identity theft
  • Fraud
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Trafficking in identity documents
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of Methamphetamine, and
  • Failure to comply with release documents

St. Albert CRU has seen a significant increase in identity theft complaints recently. St. Albert CRU has completed three separate investigations that have resulted in the seizure of hundreds of forged and stolen identification documents. Many of the stolen identity documents that the suspects have used to make false identification based on, come from theft from motor vehicles which is called “car hopping” or “car shopping”.

To help combat this growing crime trend, the St. Albert RCMP urge citizens to follow the #9PM Routine and keep their motor vehicles locked.
