Meet Chompers
He’s a male German Shepherd. He’s neutered and just over 2 years old (2 yrs 1 month).
This animal is still awaiting spay / neuter surgery so is not ready to go home today. However, a deposit can be placed on the animal so that it can be held for an interested adopter. Please inquire at the adoption desk.
History:
-None
Behaviour Observed in Shelter:
-Social with people
-Pulls on leash
-Potential for separation anxiety
-Barrier reactivity
-Pushy and invasive when greeting other dogs
Recommendations:
-EHS class Basic Obedience to establish bond and teach basic cues
-EHS class Hustle Your Walk and specialized walking gear (front clip harness) to teach loose leash walking
-Utilize anti anxiety tools such as Thundershirts, appropriate crate training, DAP, supplements
– Monitor all interactions with other dogs to ensure they remain appropriate, reward positive interactions
– Interrupt and redirect/counter-condition unwanted behaviours such as barrier reactivity

Fort Assiniboine is a significant landmark in Alberta, playing a crucial role in Indigenous history, the fur trade, and the western expansion of Canada. This documentary captures the spirit of the region, illustrating how it has evolved over two centuries and how it continues to shape the cultural fabric of the province today.
Wild TV will make the documentary free to stream on Wild TV+ (insert link here once push it over to app) on February 14th so that it can be easily accessed in classrooms and other educational settings throughout the region, ensuring the historical significance of Fort Assiniboine reaches a wider audience.
