Hinton RCMP Seek Information on Suspicious Fire
Hinton, Alberta – Hinton RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance after a suspicious fire was set on Tuesday afternoon.
On May 29, 2018 at approximately 5:15 p.m., RCMP and Hinton Fire responded to a small fire on a trail adjacent to Hallam Drive. No injuries were reported and no damage was caused to surrounding structures.
A tractor tire was intentionally set on fire in the area and RCMP are seeking any information from the public about those responsible.

Hinton RCMP seeking assistance in identifying armed robbery suspects
Hinton, Alta. – On March 10, 2020, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Hinton RCMP received a complaint of an armed robbery at the Timberland Hotel. Two males entered the hotel lobby, one male jumped the counter and went to the back office to steal a cash drawer while a second pointed what appears to be a sawed off shotgun in the direction of one staff member. The suspects then exited while the one male threatened staff with the firearm. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Description of the suspects:
Suspect 1: Male approximately 5’6’’-5’8’’ wearing blue pants with a reflective circle at the base, blue coat, blue gloves and his face was covered.
Suspect 2: Male, approximately 5’10’’-6’1’’, wearing light tan coloured coveralls with a yellow reflective X on the back and around the arms and legs, a blue hooded sweater with the hood up and an orange ball cap with his face covered. This male was holding what is believed to be a sawed off shotgun.

Hinton RCMP investigate uttering threats at local school
Hinton, Alta – On Dec. 9, 2019, at 3:15 p.m., Hinton RCMP received a complaint from a third party that a youth had threatened to harm students of Harry Collinge High School. Shortly after, Hinton RCMP were notified by the High School that the student was with staff.
Hinton RCMP attended the school and the 15-year-old male youth from Hinton was taken into custody and the investigation continues. Hinton RCMP are working closely with the staff of the High School to ensure the safety of students and staff. No formal charges have been laid at this time.
No further updates are anticipated.
