PSA from the City of Edmonton
July 26, 2019
Edmontonians have an opportunity to get closer to the weed-eating goats in Rundle Park and participate in crafts and educational exhibits.
Date: Saturday, July 27
Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
City staff will be on hand to talk about parkland management, including weed control and pest management. The event will happen rain or shine.
Visitors, please help keep the goats safe and comfortable by following these rules:
🐐 Please don’t feed the goats—whether it’s human food, branches, leaves or grass. They have more than enough weeds to eat.
🐐 Avoid bringing large groups to view the goats. They are spooked by crowds and loud noises.
🐐 Don’t bring your pets, if possible. Guard dogs watch over the goats. If your pets are with you, please leash them for their own safety.
🐐 Don’t stop your vehicle on Rundle Park Road to watch the goats at work. There are parking lots nearby.
🐐 Don’t pet the goats without permission from the shepherd.
This summer marks the third and final year of the pilot program as the City works to combat noxious weeds while limiting herbicide use.
