Central Albertans To Help Global Refugees This Weekend! (May 6th)
By Sheldon Spackman
A special fundraising event to assist roughly 60 million refugees throughout the globe will take place in Ponoka this weekend. It’s being billed as a Christian response to uprooted people around the world and will be at St. Mary’s Anglican Church from 6 – 8 pm.
The event aims to explain why people leave their homelands, the struggles they face on their journeys and what life is like in Refugee camps. It will also give Central Albertans the chance to help, with proceeds going to the Primates World Relief And Development Fund.
The cost to attend is $25 and includes a meal and silent auction. For more information, visit the church Facebook Page or call 403-704-9183.
