Trump Is Back And Foreign Leaders Are Taking Notice
From the Daily Caller News Foundation
That didn’t take long.
Less than a week after the landslide election of former President Donald J. Trump, America’s enemies are running for cover.
A Hamas spokesman told Newsweek it seeks an immediate end to the war.
Russia’s Vladimir Putin remarked to reporters that Trump’s desire to end the Ukraine crisis “deserves attention at least.”
China’s Xi Jinping congratulated Trump on Thursday, expressing the pair would “find the right way to get along in the new era.”
World leaders know that the past four years of U.S. dithering, insecurity, and shame are over.
America is back with the gusto of a “USA, USA!” chant.
The world sees exactly what a majority of Americans see in their president-elect: strength.
“His behavior at the moment of an attempt on his life left an impression on me. He turned out to be a brave man,” Vladimir Putin said.
Damn right.
It is a fact as old as human nature that strength, bravery and resolve create peace. Weakness invites war.
We’ve lived the latter half of that adage for the past four years.
Madam vice president thought her boss was “capable in every way,” and willfully ignored President Joe Biden’s declining faculties as he struggled to climb the stairs of Air Force One, remember the names of other world leaders or stay awake during global summits.
The Biden-Harris administration shamed the nation with its disgraceful retreat from Afghanistan. After the world watched that fiasco, deterrence collapsed like a Dollar-General beach chair under Chris Christy. Enter, stage left, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Chinese spy balloons and a Middle East in flames.
Is it any wonder that military recruiting dropped under Biden, our enemies began moving pawns across the chessboard and America’s trust in its military plummeted to the lowest point in decades?
Trump’s new national security team will inherit a Middle East engulfed in violence, China marching towards Taiwan and the largest war in Europe since 1945.
The first order of business? A return to the Trump 1.0 policies that worked.
That is bad news for host of malign actors, but at the top of the list likely sits Iran and its proxies. The mullahs are probably regretting their plot to assassinate Trump.
Expect Trump’s legendary “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran to snap back in place. That plan drained billions from their despotic death cult. Sign number one: recent reports say the maximum pressure campaign architect, Brian Hook, will lead the transition team at the U.S. Department of State.
On Friday, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin called a meeting of all political appointees at the Pentagon — let’s hope they simply discussed the orderly and lawful transfer of power and authorities and not ways to stymie the incoming administration.
With two months of Biden remaining at the helm, most Americans are holding their breath that he won’t stumble the nation into yet another conflict before leaving the Oval Office for good.

President Of Country Hosting UN Climate Summit Defends Fossil Fuels, Slams Media And Green ‘Hypocrisy’
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev
From the Daily Caller News Foundation
By Nick Pope
To accuse us that we have oil is the same like to accuse us that we have more than 250 sunny days a year in Baku.
The president of Azerbaijan, host country of this year’s U.N. climate change conference, defended fossil fuels while slamming the media and climate “hypocrisy” in a Tuesday speech at the event.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev described fossil fuels as a “gift of God,” slammed the “Western fake news” media for criticizing his country’s emissions and stated that countries like his “should not be blamed” for developing their reserves of natural resources and bringing them to the market. The U.N. conference — also known as COP29 — has attracted tens of thousands of attendees to the Azerbaijani capital Baku to discuss initiatives like so-called “climate finance” for developing countries, standards for carbon credit markets and emissions reduction commitments.

Aliyev rattled off statistics about Azerbaijan’s relatively small contributions to global oil and gas production before criticizing the media, politicians and nonprofits for maligning his country for capitalizing on its natural resources.
“I have to bring these figures to the attention of our audience, because right after Azerbaijan was elected as the host country of COP29, we became a target of a coordinated, well-orchestrated campaign of slander and blackmail,” said Aliyev. “Western fake news media and so-called independent NGOs, as if (they) were competing in spreading disinformation and false information about our country. To accuse us that we have oil is the same like to accuse us that we have more than 250 sunny days a year in Baku.”
Aliyev emphasized his view that there are many criteria by which to judge a country, but a nation’s resources and their sale are not one of them.
“I said it several months ago, and now all those who want, I mean international media, to attack me, just quote me that I said that this is a gift of God. And I want to repeat it today here at this audience, it’s a gift of God,” Aliyev said. “Every natural resource, whether it’s oil, gas, wind, sun, gold, silver, copper, all that are natural resources and countries should not be blamed for having them and should not be blamed for bringing these resources to the market because the market needs them.”
Aliyev attacked those who have criticized his country as a petro-state, though Azerbaijan’s economy is “anchored” by oil and gas, which accounted for nearly half of the nation’s GDP and 92.5% of export revenue in 2022, according to the U.S. International Trade Administration.
“Unfortunately, double standards, a habit to lecture other countries and political hypocrisy became a kind of modus operandi for some politicians, state-controlled NGOs and fake news media in some Western countries,” said Aliyev.
COP29 kicked off on Monday, and the Taliban even managed to send a delegation to the conference. The Biden administration, meanwhile, is still looking to be productive at the summit despite the looming return of President-elect Donald Trump, who has pledged to roll back climate initiatives and spending as well as withdraw from the U.N.’s Paris Climate Accords, according to The New York Times.

Climate Change Fanaticism Was The Big Election Loser
From the Daily Caller News Foundation
By Stephen Moore
A few days before last week’s election, Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders issued a dire warning to voters. If Trump won, “the struggle against climate change will be over.”
He had that right.
Climate change fanaticism was effectively on the ballot last week. That green energy agenda was decisively defeated.
It turns out the tens of millions of middle-class Americans who voted for Trump weren’t much interested in the temperature of the planet 50 years from now. They were too busy trying to pay the bills.
The result shouldn’t be too surprising. Polls have shown climate change ranks near the bottom of voters’ concerns. Jobs, inflation and illegal immigration register much higher on the scale of concerns.
But if you asked the elite of America in the top one percent of income, climate change is seen as an immediate and existential threat to the planet. Our poll at Unleash Prosperity earlier this year found that the cultural elites were so hyper-obsessed with climate issues, they were in favor of banning air conditioning, nonessential air travel and many modern home appliances to stop global warming. Our study showed that not many of the other 99 percent agree.
Wake up, Bernie and Al Gore.
Climate change has become the ultimate luxury good: the richer you are, the more you fret about it.
Among the elite, obsessing about climate change has become a favorite form of virtue-signaling at the country club and in the faculty lounges. There is almost no cross that the green elites — the people who donate six figures or more to groups like the Sierra Club — aren’t willing to make lower income Americans bear to stop global warming.
Herein lies the political curse of the climate issue. A millionaire doesn’t care much if the price of gas rises by $1 a gallon or if they have to pay another $100 a month in utility bills. But the middle class hates paying more.
It wasn’t just economic concerns that turned the voters against climate crusaders like President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Workers weren’t too thrilled with the heavy fist of government commanding them to buy an electric vehicle — whether they wanted one or not.
It hasn’t helped the greens’ cause that the same progressives who are out to save the planet with grandiose transformations and global government, seem to have no problem with the garbage polluting the streets of our major cities or the graffiti or the feces and urine smell on the street corners of San Francisco and New York. That’s real pollution. And it’s affecting us here and now.
The good news is this year’s voter revolts against the radical green agenda are not a vote for dirtier air or water. The air that we breathe and the water we drink is cleaner than ever — a point that President Donald Trump correctly made. We will continue to make progress against pollution.
To try to sell middle America on the climate-change agenda of abolishing fossil fuels, the greens peddled bogus arguments that climate change would hurt poor communities most. In reality the financial costs of the climate policies and the paychecks lost were felt by the non-elite.
Democrats forgot to visit the steel-mill construction sites or the auto plants or the oil patch and ask those workers what they thought.
Well, now we know the reality. Americans think their shrinking paychecks and the higher price of gas they pay at the pump is the real clear-and-present danger. If Democrats don’t start to get that, they too will go to bed worrying about their jobs.
