Return of Ben King triggers a series of trades and transactions for Red Deer Rebels

News Release from the Red Deer Rebels
Red Deer Rebels Owner/President/General Manager Brent Sutter announced on Tuesday that the club has completed three separate trades.
Red Deer has acquired 19-year-old defenceman Tayem Gislason and a conditional 5th round selection at the 2024 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 18-year-old forward Carter Anderson. Gislason, a native of Winnipeg, MB, was a 6th round pick by the Raiders at the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft. In 93 career games with Prince Albert, Gislason has three goals and 12 assists for 15 points. He also has 48 penalty minutes and a career plus/minus rating of +8.
The Rebels have also acquired 18-year-old forward Dwayne Jean Jr. from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a 4th round selection in the 2024 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. Jean Jr., who hails from Edmonton, was originally listed by the Tri-City in 2020 and played 58 games with the Americans, collecting five goals and nine assists.
With 20-year-old forward Ben King being returned to the Rebels over the weekend by the Anaheim Ducks, the Rebels have traded 20-year-old defenceman Tanner Brown to the Regina Pats in exchange for a 5th round selection at the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, and a 4th round selection at the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft (originally belonging to Swift Current).
