Blackfalds Senior Housing Project Moving Forward

Following the December 12, 2017 Regular Council Committee meeting, the Town of Blackfalds will be moving ahead with the project schedule for development of a Senior Housing project.
Through discussions and formal follow up, it had been indicated that the Lacombe Foundation and the Bethany Group are very interested in leading the development and operations of a new project for Blackfalds. This effort has been supported by the recent purchase of 0.91 acre of land located at 4510 Broadway Avenue (corner of Broadway Ave. & South St.).
“Everyone needs a place to call home, and today’s Council decision will help move forward affordable, accessible housing for our seniors,” said Sue Bornn, Manager of FCSS. “We look forward to working with The Lacombe Foundation and the Bethany Group to make this project a reality.”
Both the Provincial and federal Governments have released housing strategies which indicates that funds will be made available for affordable housing for low to moderate income seniors and families, of which will be applied for.
