Attend Lacombe County’s ‘Cannabis in Your Community’ public meetings
Lacombe County is soon holding a couple meetings to get a dialogue started around cannabis legalization.
The ‘Cannabis in Your Community’ public meetings are aimed at encouraging an open and respectful community discussion around cannabis legalization and related rules and regulations in Lacombe County. Organizers say participants will leave with an increased understanding of federal and provincial legislation related to cannabis legalization, and will also have an opportunity to provide input on the municipal rules and regulations related to cannabis in Lacombe County.
The meeting is being hosted in partnership with Alberta Health Services.
Lacombe County will be seeking feedback from participants specifically with respect to:
– Rules and regulations for cannabis retail, production, manufacturing and distribution facilities within Lacombe County; and
– Rules and regulations for the public consumption of cannabis in Lacombe County
Again, there will be a two chances to get in on the conversation; the first is Tuesday, July 17th at Bentley Community Hall, from 6-9 pm, the second is Wednesday, July 18 at Mirror Hall, from 6-9 pm.
RSVP’s are required by Tuesday, July 10, so please contact the County’s Planning & Development Department by phone or email to let them know you’ll attend.
Phone: (403) 782-8389
Email: [email protected]
If you are unable to attend the meetings, you can still have your say! An online survey will be available for you to complete after July 18th.
