Canada’s first ‘Passivhaus’ dealership!
The walls are going up for our new Subaru location here in Red Deer! We aren’t moving far but we are certainly moving up with Canada’s very first ‘Passivhaus’ (Passive House) approach to a building.
Scott Subaru, is inspired by our partner Subaru of Indiana, the automotive manufacturer that has achieved zero landfill status! Using an already positioned building, We have strategically dismantled it piece by piece and saved all parts for reuse and donation. For example, furniture donated to Habitat for Humanity, wires and cables salvaged to be recycled, and windows saved for re-use else where. The new build will be the most energy efficient dealership in Canada with the future use of solar panels, rainwater, and landscaping engineered to keep the building pristine while minimizing our energy use and environmental impact.
We are so excited that this project is starting to show some bones and can’t wait to show you more progress as the weeks and months go by!
