Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre will save young lives!
It’s always a devastating shock to loved ones when a young person takes their own life. Often no one can see it coming. Even the person suffering depression may not realize the power of the forces they fighting until it’s too late.
Two years ago, Rick More lost his daughter Lindsey to suicide. All the more surprising because she was one of the young people who wanted to help those suffering after a string of suicides devastated community high schools. More promised his daughter he’d help other young people. He set up the Smiles Through Lindsey Foundation to create a community conversation about suicide and depression, and to let young people know they can and should speak out about their own battles.
More also teamed up with the new Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre. His goal is to ensure there’s a place for children to come for help that is child centred and child focussed. Making the invisible, visible is one of the most important roles of the new Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.
The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre is open and serving Central Alberta… One team. One collaborative approach. One child and family at a time.
