Jesse Postma adds a personal touch to construction services
We’ve enjoyed getting to know some amazing local businesses through our involvement with the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards. Here’s a real gem with a great future!
Postma Electrical Services was recently honoured as Business of the Year in the Young Entrepreneur Category. Jesse Postma started the company from his garage in 2013 and now has a staff of eight.
“I married my wife and moved to Red Deer in 2010. Following our move, I had the opportunity to work for two great local contractors. Coming from a background of family-run business, I always had the vision of going out on my own. On August 9, 2013 I made the commitment and ventured out on my own. New to business and still new to Red Deer, I learned quickly that Red Deer is a tight-knit community with strong bonds.
I operated out my garage for our first couple years, very quickly we outgrew the small space and moved into our current space on Riverside Drive. We currently have eight amazing staff, and we are always looking for people that fit our culture. I have always been by the mindset that if you employ great staff, and provide value to your customers, the work will come.”
About the Chamber: The Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most influential business association in Central Alberta. We are committed to promoting business growth and prosperity in the region by providing networking opportunities, educational and relevant speakers, benefit programs like group insurance and discounted merchant card rates to save you money, and being your advocate on issues that matter. Chamber membership is the most effective way to raise your business profile and capitalize on business development opportunities.
All companies, Chamber members and non-members, are eligible for nomination for an award in their respective category. Todayville is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Business of the Year Awards.
