Red Deer: What is best?

Red Deer? What is the best thing this city has? Well, we have diversity which contributes to new ideas, and new ways of doing things. We have the ability to grow because of this. But are we really growing? No, because certain areas of this great city have gone unnoticed for far too long and its affecting the city as a whole! We badly need to expand the north while leaving the south end alone a bit. We need more things to do to encompass our way of life and to improve recreational and entertainment facilities on the north end. Why do we have to go to gasoline ally for a good movie (i know some might say, well not wait till it comes to carnival)? Why isn’t there a recreational facility besides the dawe center in the north end. Good concerts seem to pass right by red deer and go straight to calgary/edmonton! Festivals (unless you count ross street) are next to nil. People want to move out rather than to this city because of lack things to do. Not everyone has the same interests and likes, so we as a city need to have something for all people of all ages of all walks of life to keep them from getting bored!
One way is to promote teams such as the eskimos/stampeders to come practise in red deer during the spring ..(they did it in fort mac) so why not in red deer?
Also opening other business in the north besides the 8-10 liquor stores within the 4 block span between 67th and 76st….better zoning bylaws are needed to simply say no to more of these and yes to something else that will engage the community, even if its a theatre to promote local artist that are just starting out…something like a smaller fringe style theatre that we could have all year long. Its something to think about and promote with red deer college or something.
