Kids Can Get Active With Red Deer’s Rip’N Rec Pass!
By Sheldon Spackman
So what are your kids up to this summer? If sitting around the house playing video games just isn’t cutting it anymore, the City of Red Deer has a great opportunity for them to have a lot more fun than that! The City’s Recreation, Parks and Culture Department has introduced the Rip ‘N Rec Pass.
For a one-time fee of just $50, it offers youth between 6 – 17 years old, free transit rides and admission to all four City of Red Deer recreation facilities, including the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Centre, Recreation Centre and Michener Aquatic Centre until September 4th.
That means unlimited rides on Red Deer Transit, anywhere in the city at anytime and unlimited access to all four of the City’s recreation centres for drop-in activities. Those activities would include things like swimming at the indoor and outdoor pools, gym activities like badminton and basketball, fitness and wellness studios and weight rooms. However, Fitness & Wellness Studio and Weight Room users must complete an orientation. Consent forms must also be signed by a parent or guardian at the time of purchase.
City officials say the Rip ‘N Rec card pays for itself after only 4 swims and bus rides and is a big savings from the regular price monthly pass.
You can pick up the Rip ‘N Rec Pass at any of the following four City of Red Deer recreation facilities:
Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Centre, Michener Centre or Recreation Centre.
