Are you filthy, Inside and out?
A car is part of our habitat, our home, our space. Just like our home or office, we need to pay constant attention, to its appearance and working condition, or it will wear prematurely, look older, and perform to less than its full potential. Dust, dirt, sand and other particles can stick to your vehicle, diminishing the paint and finish. They are also culprits for rust and corrosion, which can speed up the aging process for your vehicle up to 10x the average. This would also considerably impact the resale of the vehicle, when that time arrives. Keeping your mode of transportation clean can save you gas and money also. Dirt and debris add weight to your vehicle, both the interior and exterior! This adds unwanted confusion, clutter and even lack of visibility throughout the vehicle.
A clean car also improves the most important aspect of your vehicle, its safety! Clean windshields, windows and a clear line of sight helps you, and it makes you more visible to other drivers. Clean well maintained vehicles of all shapes and sizes perform better when they are clean. Even relatively small details such as sure footing, pedal access, cleanliness of mirrors of all lights (interior and exterior).
Certain times of the year, especially in Central Alberta can prove to be difficult. Windshield wipers with full contact to the glass can help, as well, try to always have a full reservoir of ant-freeze/ windshield cleaner.
Lastly, whether your drive a 55 Chevy, a 1985 Jeep, or a 2016 HellCat, your car tells your story. Make sure it tells the story you want, the way you would tell it.
Until next time, Keep your rubber on the road!
