Salvation Army Christmas Campaign Down from Last Year
Red Deer, AB – December 5, 2018 – Kettle donations are down at The Salvation Army in Red Deer, and they are in danger of not reaching their 0,000 goal. Their Adopt-a-Family program is also short 30 sponsors to help families in need this Christmas.
“Our Kettle donations are behind $11,000 from this time last year and we’re desperate for Adopt-a- Family sponsors for families,” says Red Deer Salvation Army Officer, Major Larry Bridger. “We could really use some extra help this year with donations, sponsors, and volunteers.”
Major Bridger is asking for businesses, clubs, or families, to become a sponsor and help a family in need this Christmas. It’s an anonymous match-up to make sure that every family will receive what they need for a good Christmas, and it’s easy to become a sponsor – just call 403-346-2251.
Also, all Kettle donations made in Red Deer stay local to ensure Salvation Army programs and services continue year-round, including their food bank services, school meal program, clothing, hot meals, summer camps, and senior’s programs.
“To make it easier to donate, we’ve added debit and credit card machines to six of our 10 Kettles this year, for those who don’t carry cash,” says Major Bridger. “You can also donate online anytime at fillthekettle.com.”
Please call 403-346-2251 for information on helping The Salvation Army’s Christmas Campaign in Red Deer.
