Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Central Alberta
Remembrance Day services will be held today in communities throughout Central Alberta. I’m proud to be taking part of the service at Sylvan Lake. As Hon. Lt. Col 41 Signal Regiment I’m proud and humbled to stand with the men and women of 2 Squadron who will be on hand at the Multiplex in Sylvan Lake, 4803-48th Street. The ceremony starts at 10:45 and will wrap up at 11:30am.
Other services in Central Alberta include:
Red Deer at CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Road 275 beginning 10:30am. Take advantage of free transit to and from Sorensen Station downtown starting at 9am.
Veteran’s Park in Red Deer at the Downtown Cenotaph starting at 10:30am. 49th avenue and Ross street. Hosted by the Korean War Veterans Association.
Lacombe Memorial Centre, 5214 50th Avenue. The service will begin at 10:45am.
Blackfalds at The Abbey Centre, 4500 Womacks Road, Blackfalds. Service begins at 10:45 and guests are encouraged to arrive early.
The Ponoka Legion, 3911 AB-2A. The ceremony starts at 10:45am.
The Innisfail Legion, 5108 49th Avenue beginning at 9:45am and a ceremony at the cenotaph at 10:45am.
Please take part in one of the ceremonies near you, or at least pause for a moment today to remember those who fought for the freedoms we now take for granted.
